The VON HOWARD PROJECT, now in our 7th season, is currently raising funds to help generate growth to our operational budget and we need your help.
The company is currently in rehearsal for our current and upcoming season(s). In October of 2009 the company premiered RE-GENERATE a collaborative project with Iquail Shaheed, Artistic Director of Dance Iquial! Together Christian & Iquail piloted a new performance project who's mission is to celebrate the legacy of the choreographers and dancers of the past, but also develops and supports the creation of new work by current artists in the field. This amazing performance series debuted new work by guest choreographers Nicholas Leichter, Ray Mercer, Germaul Barnes, Christopher Ralph and included the wonderful auditory support by dance icons - Dyane Harvey, Gus Solomons, jr and Aubrey Lynch, II.
Our past seasons have sprung forth many memorable moments for the company; from our long hours spent on the highways traveling from venue to venue to our breath taking moments performing on the stage. We look forward to many new and different performance, teaching and touring opportunities which are made possible through grants and donations from generous arts supporters like you.
All donations to the VON HOWARD PROJECT are tax-deductible and are used to support the operational budget of the company which includes artist salaries, studio rentals, professional services, costumes, supplies and support in the creation of new work.
The VON HOWARD PROJECT is fiscally sponsored through the auspices of Ground Zero Dance Company. Ground Zero Dance Company seeks to bring modern dance to a wider and more diverse audience by maintaining an ongoing dialogue between the company and the community, through the production of new work, collaboration with and presentation of other dance artists from Virginia and beyond, and regular public educational and participatory opportunities.
