LESLIE SCOTT - PHOTOGRAPHER

Leslie Scott is BODYARTs original artistic director and has been a part of the company since its founding in 2002. Her career spans several fields from public relations, international communications, commercial photography, painter and finally as a choreographer. As a collage of artistic disciplines herself, the artistic body of her work includes an interdisciplinary approach to expression. Often her paintings have been quoted as vividly motional and her dance works as moving photographs.

Ms. Scott worked with world renowned dance photographer Lois Greenfield, while pursing her own photographic projects. She is the photographer in residence for the Von Howard Project, a New York Modern Dance company, Texas Christian University, and was recently a staff photographer for the American Dance Festival in 2005.

Scott holds a BFA in Modern Dance with an emphasis in photography from Texas Christian University. As the creator and current faculty of the dance program for Columbia Universitys The School, Ms Scott enjoys regular teaching choreographic residencies across the country.
